  1. Thank you Sir,
Mama and I do all our traveling accompanied by Miss Caeleigh, our _leashed_ Norwegian Elkhound and a full-trip's worth of baggies for the obvious, so we'll never be able to see Crater Lake. The NPS limits dog access in national parks to parking lots and surrounding paved paths only.

I won't dispute that dogshit on a trail is unpleasant for other park visitors nor will I argue about NPS' policy; I merely state as fact our choice of avoiding national parks - as well as some state parks which have similar policies.

That said, your pics are gorgeous, different than the generally-seen stock Crater Lake fotos. I love the "green" ones; our prettiest memories of Oregon are of places we were in Cascades west-slope rain forest. In addition to a couple spots along the north third of the Coast during a driving trip in '06, in 1997 we rode AMTRAK down the west slope from Odell Lake to Springfield during the height of a spring thaw. That scenery was luscious just like your green fotos.

  2. Alf,

Thanks for the kind words on my photography. You will see more as we go along here.

I don't blame you for sticking up for your dog. Have you ever visited Alaska? The whole state is like a national park. And dogs are part of life up there.
