George Will ridicules Portland's bike culture

The world according to Will:

Transportation, after all, is about concrete practicalities—planes, trains and automobiles, steel, asphalt and concrete.


There followed a snide attack on Portland, America's most bike-friendly city.

Congressman Earl Blumenauer, perhaps the best friend the bike community has in Washington, had sworn "to hold the weasels accountable. Twice, after this egregious attack on his constituents appeared in Newsweek, he challenged Will to a debate (twice Will declined!) then:

Mr. Will proves that he is mired in a one-dimensional past, one that the city of Portland has successfully overcome.
