Ergonomic recumbent trike

We got into a discussion on bicycle ergonomics on Eric's blog and I thought I would post a few photos here for reference. If you're going to take biking seriously, you need to think about ergonomics. HP Velotechnik seems to put ergonomics first. Many American bike companies act as though it doesn't exist. We get consumerism instead of ergonomics: bikes with seats elevated far above the handle bars, tiny rock-hard seats, and no room for fenders or tires larger than racing slicks. The result: a year or two after spending thousands on an ultra-light racing bike that might be several sizes too small, any kind of biking becomes a painful ordeal.
