Two biking world records were set in Eureka
650 miles in one day on a bike!
The grey bike holds the world's one-day distance record--650 miles! Note the similarity to the yellow bike, which I met on a lonely dike in Northern Holland. It's called "The Mango" and the owner, Frank, looked like he was really enjoying himself. I don't know if you could break the world speed record on such a bike, but I certainly couldn't keep up with Frank--and he was loaded down with enough gear to tour for days on end. Although the Mango isn't completely enclosed, like the record holding bike, it's usable on a daily basis--and you can buy them new in Holland.
