Biking for the Handicapped

I ran into this couple on a ride through the countryside near Amsterdam. They had just crossed the small canal bridge in the background and were happy to demonstrate the mechanism that allowed both of them to enjoy a ride in the sun. The tandem bike becomes an ordinary wheelchair in a matter of seconds--and can then be easily stored in an apartment or home.

Whoever thought up this bike design should be a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize. What a kind and generous invention!
