Yes, at this time of the year you can expect to see thousands of Aleutian Geese when riding along Old Arcata Road between Arcata and Eureka. In about a month most of them will leave us for their summer home in the Aleutian Islands. It's 2,000 miles over open ocean with no land. Make it or die.
I'll post some photos of the riding lanes on Old Arcata Road soon. Generally, it's quite good with three foot asphalt bike lanes on each side of the road.
